VBC Weekly Update
Hi VBC Nation,
As we head further into the final stretch of the club season, many of our teams have wrapped up their competition schedules and we want to congratulate them on a great year. Several teams are still training and preparing for the events ahead, including Nationals later this summer. Please see below for this week’s important club updates.
VBC Boys
Results:
23 VBC Boys teams competed in the Boys’ East Coast Championships in Richmond, Virginia this past weekend, one of the biggest events of the season. SPORTIME VBC had a very strong showing overall, with 10 teams finishing in the top 10 of their respective divisions. Those top finishes included:
- 18-1, 9th in 18 Open
- 17-1, 7th in 17 Open
- 17 Quogue, 9th in 17 USA
- 16-1, 5th in 16 Open
- 15-4, 6th in 15 USA
- 15-3, 9th in 15 USA
- 15 Quogue, 7th in 15 USA
- 14-1, 5th in 14 Open
- 14-2, 7th in 14 USA
- 14-3, 6th in 14 USA

VBC Girls
Coming up this weekend:
14 Gold, 14 Green, 15 Gold, 15 Black, 16 Green, and 16 Green 2 will be competing in the 6th Annual New Jersey State Championship in Atlantic City, New Jersey this weekend. Good luck to all of our teams and coaches competing this weekend.
Elite Camps:
We are excited to announce our coaches for this summer’s VBC Elite Camps. On the boys side, we are proud to welcome Coach Eddy Alexander. Eddy is a former Division I athlete who played at LIU and who just completed his second professional season overseas in Denmark. He will bring a high level of knowledge and experience to camp, along with drills, terminology, and concepts he has acquired from his college and professional playing careers. On the girls side, we are thrilled to welcome Coach Brian Smith. As a player, Brian helped lead SUNY New Paltz to its first ever number one national ranking and Final Four appearance. He is also the former Head Coach at Molloy University and a former assistant coach at Columbia University. He brings a tremendous amount of playing and coaching experience to camp and was named ECC Coach of the Year in 2023. To reserve a space for your child, please follow this link.
Junior Summer Leagues:
Indoor: Our indoor summer leagues are a great opportunity for VBC players to stay active, team up with friends, and enjoy fun competition. SPORTIME provides referees, team shirts, and championship prizes for the winning teams. Boys league play takes place on Tuesday nights and begins on June 16. Girls league play takes place on Thursday nights and begins on June 18. Registration is by full team, with one volunteer parent submitting the $780 team fee by clicking here.
Beach: Our Co-Ed beach leagues take place on Tuesday nights at Point Lookout Beach. Players compete 6 v 6 on the sand against other teams of a similar age and skill level. Registration is by full team, with one volunteer parent submitting the $750 team fee by, click here.
VBC Summer Program Update: Our VBC Beach Club program begins next week, so if your child is still interested and has not registered yet, now is the time to secure their spot. Players train and compete in doubles on the sand while preparing for local tournaments in Long Beach throughout the summer. All summer indoor programs begin in just a few weeks.
